We welcomed officers with the Royal Norwegian Home Guard and Minnesota National Guard to the NOREX Reception on Tuesday February 19, 2019. More commonly known as the NOREX Troop Exchange, this program, in its 46 th year, brings around 100 Norwegian Home Guard soldiers to Camp Ripley for two weeks of winter training. At the same time, a similar number of Minnesota National Guard soldiers, are in Norway doing training in the Norwegian mountains. NACC Executives head to Norway

Several NACC-UMW executives are this week heading to Norway to participate in the continuing celebration of the Reciprocal Troop Exchange between the Minnesota National Guard and the Norwegian Home Guard. Paying their own way, the group will be hosted by the Norwegian Home Guard to dinner at Akershus Fortress overlooking the Oslo harbor, visit Kongsberg Defense Industries, and tour Rjukan, the location of the Vemork Facility that produced heavy water for the Nazis during WW II in their attempt to produce an atomic weapon. On Sunday, February 17, 2013, the NACC-UMW was happy to co-host, along with the Royal Norwegian Honorary Consulate General, the Sons of Norway, Borton Volvo, and Main Sponsor Recon Robotics, the 40th anniversary banquet for the troop exchange between the Minnesota National Guard and the Norwegian Home Guard. NACC-Upper Midwest Announces New Board Members

At our annual meeting in Minneapolis on January 21, 2013, The Selection Committee proposed the following Executive Committee to the Board of Directors: Peter E. Russell – President; Ole Koppang – Vice President; Past President – Eivind Heiberg; Secretary – Gerry Fisher; Treasurer – Christian Laland. The Selection Committee also proposed Ingrid Serck-Hanssen to the Board of Directors as a member-at-large. The slate was unopposed and unanimously elected to serve their term.
